Things banned in Vegas

Las Vegas is known as a very liberal city. Gambling is permitted here, you can walk down the street drinking beer (this is prohibited in the rest of the United States). Prostitution is illegal on paper, but is tolerated. For the city, Americans say "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."
That is why you will be surprised that the city banned a lot of things. Some prohibitions are reasonable, some are pretty weird.

Hip-hop concerts. In 2005, the sheriff ordered the casinos to ban hip-hop concerts. He claimed the reason to the increased fighting crime and vandalism in the evenings of the concerts. Once the authorities have warned that casinos that will be held responsible for the crimes that occur on their territory after the hip-hop events, they stopped inviting artists from that genre.

Pets in the central part of the city. You can walk your dog between 5 am and noon.  And there is a tendency this to become totally banned. A tourist from California has been bitten by a dog, and similar incidents in the United States are not be tolerated.

Lap Dance. In 2006, Nevada's Supreme Court bans lap dancing. Streapers are not allowed to dance, by  touching the customer. Many of them protested and said that most of their income comes from this, but the court said that they can entertain clients without touching them.

Hoop spinning in a public place. Many people try to make some money in Vegas as street artists. At one point the city was invaded by people who spin colored hoops like circus performers. However, the local government decided that they are reason for traffic jams on sidewalks and create more inconvenience than fun and banned it.

Megaphones. The reason was again the chaos created by street artists. This prohibition, however, was challenged in the court. The affected people believe that this is a restriction on freedom of speech. Currently there are only two areas where megaphones are allowed in Las Vegas.
